Guerilla Haiku Movement from Maggie Perrotta on Vimeo.

Can we talk briefly about Maggie Perrotta, the amazing woman that put this video together?  From the moment I met her at the Digable Arts Festival in Hoboken, this fellow Gemini has been an amazing source of inspiration and motivation.  Her talents are great, her positivity and pleasantness are unparalleled, and you should contact her immediately for any and all creative video projects you have secretly been putting on the back-burner.  She is worth her weight in gold!
                    THANK YOU, MAGGIE!

In homage to my blissfully Shakespearean Summer: 08/27/2011

I am sharing with you all one highlight of my summer in New Hampshire.  We were given the opportunity to work on Taming of the Shrew in "Original Practice" mode.  This means we came into the summer fully prepared to perform 2 roles in Taming of the Shrew.  (I had Kate and Grumio to learn)

We did not rehearse at all together, and had no idea which roles our fellow company members were playing.  On the night of our performances, the audience yelled out a number that corresponded to different cast combinations, and it was revealed which part we were playing and who we were playing opposite.  Then we improvised the show, having prepared only the parts we were given.  This was a trip-  the best exercise in listening an actor could ever have AND wildly entertaining for the audience because (whenever mistakes were made) the stage manager kept us in line by honking a horn at us and getting us back on track.  Hilarity ensued.

This is the final monologue during one of my stints as Kate.
                    Enjoy!  (I know I did!)

Come one an all, I am in deep and serious love with all of these actors.  Their work has inspired and motivated me all year long, and this is our last big Hurrah together.  It will be magic.  Reserve a space to watch the proceedings.  Like now.

Following the events of A Game Without A Name, the Indomitable Impostor (a primordial trickster spirit) somehow manages to escape his dark tower, and schemes his revenge on the gods that have enslaved him. Suddenly free, he sets out to accomplish the unthinkable: fool the all-knowing and alter the course of the universe. Along the way, however, his grand design begins to take unexpected turns, and the characters he creates to serve his darker purpose (two bumbling heralds, a teenage stoner, a pair of gunslingers, a bounty hunter, and a mystical knight) begin to rebel against their written destinies. Culminating in an epic struggle aboard the legendary Flying Dutchman, each party must come to grips with the origin of his creation, and the inevitability of his destruction.Tickets, $18:

See you here at 2pm on April 30th!
                    Greetings, Fellow Adventurers!

Are you ready to begin a movement?
Armed only with sidewalk chalk, your own vitality and a digital camera; in the company of strangers that are soon-to-be kindred spirits, you will temporarily and eloquently change the face of this city- and thereby the world.

                    Join us.

The plan is as follows: we meet at 2:00pm April 30th, Saturday.  At the Bow and Arrow statue in Rincon Park (the Embarcadero) http://www.yelp.com/map/rincon-park-san-francisco (see ; dressed for urban adventure (in and out of doors so dress accordingly)

You will be randomly split into groups of 5-8.  Bring friends, family, people you run into on the BART that are clearly full of joy.  But recognize that it is essential that you want to play with others (unknown others).  For such is the spirit of the event.

Each group will be given a scavenger hunt, a map of one San Francisco neighborhood, a bucket of sidewalk chalk and one digital camera. Together you will travel to your 'hood.  Once there, the magic begins.  Inspired by the place and each other, you will create haiku to decorate that place.  Engage as many passers-by as you wish (i am a big proponent of engaging passers-by).  And then document your work with photos.

We will convene together as a large crew when we are finished (6pm-ish) at Schroeder's German Restaurant at 240 Front Street http://www.schroederssf.com/ for a final Haiku-off and general good cheer.  I will upload photos from each group to the fledgling blog and give each group an opportunity to comment on their awesomeness.  And we will frolic.  As is our nature.

This is the first Guerilla Haiku event on the WEST COAST-  we intend to re-produce them in communities the world over.
Let your favorite people know (forward this liberally), and join us.

                    Guerilla Haiku commence!

I completed the application for Milwaukee Repertory Theater's Acting Internship at long last.  Have been avoiding the technical aspect of the Video Audition, and spent a sleepless night combatting the combined powers of youtube, iMovie and iDVD.  Am pleased with the result, but vow never to avoid tech-tasks until the last minute.  Way too exciting.  And I like sleeping too much.  Check it out!
